In all of the factors of a diamonds beauty, you are not really paying for the beauty of the stone. You are paying for the RARITY of the stone. In no other area is that as evident as in clarity.
For instance, if you wanted to buy a half carat G color diamond, and I showed you two diamonds that appeared EXACTLY the same to the naked eye, but told you there was a $1300 difference, which one would you go for?
Do you know how many clarity grades there are between those two diamonds? There are five. One is a SI1, the other is a IF (Internally Flawless). However, they are so alike that even I couldn’t tell the difference without getting out my magnification.
