Gold Buying FAQ

I heard you’re buying gold or I heard you are buying (back) jewelry. We’re buying gold from 10am to 6:00pm M-F and 10am to 5:00pm on Saturdays in Springfield (or 10am - 6pm Mon - Sat in West Plains). We don't buy jewelry. We are only interested in the gold and / or select diamonds in that jewelry. There are normally lines, but, we have 4 buyers who rotate schedules with two actually buying at any given time and we'll do everything we can to get you in and out of here as fast as possible. We have seen lines as long as 1 hour, but normal wait time is less than 20 minutes.

Do you buy diamonds or colored stones? We will buy select diamonds of good quality. If they are low quality we can not buy them from you, but we will weigh them in the piece as it is more work to get them out then to just leave them in. Diamond quality will be determined upon inspection of your piece. If you’d like your stones back we will take them out for $3 each (in Springfield). We do not buy colored stones, jade, turquoise, amber or any other stone that is not a diamond. If you would like to keep your stones we will remove them for $3 each (in Springfield), they will be returned to you. If a stone(s) cannot be removed or you are unwilling to pay to have the stone(s) removed we will guesstimate the weight and deduct that from the total weight of the piece. Some stones can be removed easily in the buying office and there will be no charge for removing those. If removal charges are assessed we will deduct the charges from your total.

What are you paying? We pay per gram by karat weight and prices vary daily with changes in the global marketplace. We MUST test, inspect and weigh your gold in order to provide scrap value. We simply cannot provide any pricing over the phone or online. Keep in mind that you cannot expect retail prices when selling gold for scrap. Pieces you have purchased have a lot of time and work put into them to produce the finished product. We are simply going to melt those pieces down and extract the gold. You will be paid for gold content and select diamonds only. Justice Jewelers does not resell used jewelry. Everything will go to scrap.

What kind of metal do you buy? We buy gold and platinum only. We do not buy silver, palladium, platina or anything else that is not gold or platinum.

How does it work? We buy gold on a first come first serve basis. We hand out numbered tickets and customers are waited on in order. Our prices per penny weight per karat weight are prominently displayed in the buying office. When your number is called you will be taken into the buying office where your item(s) will be tested, inspected and weighed. We will calculate the total weight of your item(s) and provide you with your total payout. We will need a copy of your valid driver’s license or other valid state issued photo ID. In Springfield you will need to complete the Justice Jewelers purchase agreement and Item Article Description. After the paperwork has been completed we will get your payment. If your total is under $100 you will get cash. If over $100 you will get a check. (All payments from West Plains are made by check). Checks can be cashed immediately except after hours and weekends. Deposits can be made anytime.

How long will you be doing this? Right now there is no end in sight and we have no planned end date.

What is the best time of day to come in? There really isn’t a better time than others.
